A good year
We opened the new Boathouse and Filter Building last year, added boats to our masters and Junior Crew fleets, masters coaching was offered and it paid off in some very respectable performances at regattas and the SWEAT.
Our Junior Crew continues to grow and improve under the very able direction of Coach Ryan White. More summer recruiting camps will be held.
We have plans for even more new programs this spring and summer. Physiological testing based training schedules for various rowing goals, nutritional counseling for weight loss and/or performance, individual masters coaching, and video sessions will be offered on an a la carte basis.
Our erg workouts will be scheduled and supervised and the workouts will be offered for specific goals; weight loss, general aerobic fitness, strength building, improved race times. Look for some supervised big boat workouts for Masters as soon as Daylight Savings Time returns in early March.
And of course, Sinko de Mayo is not too far off.
Membership time
Your membership is valued and appreciated. It not only provides you with a great fitness and athletic resource at a very reasonable cost, it also helps support our very worth-while public school crew. Indications are that we will be asked to provide more scholarships this year as economic conditions continue to deteriorate. So please renew your membership and consider a tax-deductible contribution above and beyond club dues.
